Immigration Medical Exam For Canada

It takes 2-3 hours to complete the medical exam. Please note that you may arrive 5 minutes earlier than the scheduled appointment time. You do not need to arrive hour earlier as it only increase your waiting time.

Do not  leave our premises once you have received the Token no.

 To reschedule your appointment please email us at: visamedreschedule@gmail.com with your passport details, Medical instruction letter from IRCC, intended date and reason for  reschedule.

If you have already submitted your visa application, or if you are PR or  Express Entry visa applicant, please wait for the Medical Examination instructions from the IRCC. Do not visit us on indicated date and time. Please inform us to reschedule or cancel your appointment.

If you are Canada bound refugee applicant, we need to get an authorization from IFHP program administered by Medavie BlueCross. It may takes a week or more. We will send you an appointment after we get authorization from the insurance company. You  must  provide us an  Interim  Federal Health Certificate of eligibility.

OPENING HOURS:

Our department is open from 9 am to 4 Pm  for new  clients; Sunday to Friday.

For follow up case, please visit us between  3 PM to 4: 30 PM; Sunday to Friday.

Required documents:

  • Original passport / Travel document

·         Proof of confirm appointment document.

  • If you have received vaccine against Covid19, please bring the proof of vaccine card/ QR code certificate issued by Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP).
  •  If you had received, please bring along the vaccine card issued by the National Immunization Program including the details of Diphtheria-Pertussis-Tetanus (DPT), Hemophilus influenzae (Hib), Hepatitis B (Hep B), Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR), Polio and Rotavirus vaccines.
  • Any previous chest x-ray, if you had done before.
  • Spectacles/contact lenses if you wear one.
  • E-medical generated referral letters i.e, IME if applicable.
  • Offer letter from respected college/University
  • List of the current prescription of your medication/medical records of major operations or illness. Previous chest x-ray if you have any past history of chest problems.
  • Photos and photo copies of passport are NOT required.

·         Please bring a shawl along with you ( for woman ).

·         For Medical examination, you do not have to attend on an empty stomach.

 WHAT TESTS ARE DONE DURING THE MEDICAL EXAM?

 ·         The tests performed will depend on your visa category.

·         Your IME referral letter will indicate what tests are necessary.

·         501 code - Includes medical examinati0n, urine routine  test  for all above 5 years of age.

·         502 code - Chest x-ray (above 11 years  of age).

·         Blood test where applicable.

·         Some children between 2-11 years may require TB screening test.

·         Panel physician may request additional test as per the clinical requirement

·         If you have any doubt, please discuss with our panel physician/ staff.

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE DURING THE IMMIGRATION MEDICAL EXAMINATION?

You should:

·         Collect a token .

·         Have a Photograph.

·         ID check- referral letter, original passport  and declaration form.

 ·         Make the payment (we accept cash only).

·         Get a measurement of your height, weight, blood pressure and a vision test done.

·         Change into a gown.

 ·         Get a chest X-ray done.

·         Give a blood and urine sample.

Note: If you are pregnant chest x-ray is not recommended.

The physical examination starts from 9:00 AM, by panel physician.

 WILL I GET TO SEE MY MEDICAL REPORT / HOW IS THE REPORT SENT?

·         You do not have to collect any reports. Instead, you need  to send us an email at: visamedinfosheet@gmail.com with  your details ie. Full name, IME /UMI no. to obtain a proof of completed medical information sheet after 3-4 days.

·         If  you wish to collect health case details, you must visit yourself  at our  office in between 3-4PM  ( Sunday to Friday). In order to maintain privacy of the individuals the health case details cannot be collected by other person on your behalf. 

·         Your report is forwarded electronically via e-Medical to the department of IRCC within three working days in most cases.

 ·         If your examination or test results are abnormal, our panel physician will inform you immediately after completion of examination.

DO I NEED TO UNDRESS FOR MEDICAL EXAMINATION?

·         As per the guidelines provided by Department of IRCC you will need to undress to your undergarments.

·         We provide gown to both male and female candidates and every effort is taken to maintain your dignity. Only external physical examination is conducted.

·         We offer chaperone to all applicants if requested. All children are examined in the presence of a guardian.

 WHAT IF MY CHEST X-RAY SHOWS ABNORMALITY?

 ·         The panel physician will inform you of the result.

 ·         Sometimes, e-Medical can auto generate the further tests required depending on the abnormality.

·         Once your case is submitted,IRCC, RMO will review your case and advise if any additional tests are required. They will notify you via email.

WHAT ARE THE TESTS FOR TB?

·         TB is tested by examination of sputum (Authorized at IOM Laboratory, Baluwatar , Kathmandu only).

·         This is done in two ways, through sputum smear and culture.

 ·         Kindly note that sputum culture for TB takes 8 weeks for the final report.

TB SCREENING FOR CHILDREN

·         Children between the age of 2 and 11 years may require a TB screening test if indicated.

WHAT ARE THE SCREENING TESTS FOR TB?

 ·         The gold standard test for screening of TB is IGRA - Interferon Gamma Release Assay. It  is a blood test. If indicated we  refer you to reliable center to get this test done which is cost extra.

WHAT IF IGRA  TEST RESULT IS POSITIVE?

·         The child will need a chest x-ray.

FRAUDULENT BEHAVIOUR

·         Any fraudulent activity will be reported directly to the Government of Canada, department of IRCC.

·         TRAVEL AND MOUNTAIN MEDICINE CENTER  has been aware  of the fraudulent activity being carried out in the name of arranging earlier appointments for AVS  service  in exchange for financial gains.

·         TMMC does not acknowledge such activities and will not be liable for damages incurred in pursuit of such approach. We would like to notify our clients to be wary of such ongoing fraud.
