HOW TO BOOK  AN APPOINTMENT?

Required documents:

  1. A valid original passport is INZ’s primary and preferred form of identity documentation.
  2. If you have received vaccine against Covid 19, please  bring the proof of vaccine card/ QR code certificate issued by Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP).
  3. Any previous chest x-ray, if you had done before.
  4. Spectacles/contact lenses if you wear one
  5. E-medical generated referral letters i.e, NZER  if applicable.
  6. List of the current prescription of your medication/medical records of major operations or illness. Previous chest x-ray if you have any past history of chest problems.
  7. Photos and photo copies of passport are NOT required.
  8. For Medical examination  you do not have to attend on empty stomach.

WHAT ARE THE TEST BE DONE  DURING THE MEDICAL EXAM?

·         The tests requirement will depend on your visa categories.

·         Your  NZER  referral letter will indicate what tests are necessary.

·         501 code - Includes  medical examinati0n, urine routine  test  for all above 5 years of age.

·         502 code - Chest x-ray ( above 11 years  of age).

·         Blood test where applicable.

·         Some children  between 2-11 years may require TB screening test.

·         Panel physician may request  additional test as per the  clinical requirement.

·         If you have any doubt , please discuss with our panel physician/ staff.

WHAT WILL HAPPENED  DURING THE IMMIGRATION MEDICAL EXAMINATION ?

·         Collect  a token 

·         Take a Photography

·         Registration at registration Desk for eMedical system.

·         Make the payment ( we accept cash only)

·         Get a measurement of  your Height , Weight BP and Vision test

·         Give a blood and Urine sample.

·         Changing into  a gown.

·         Get a Chest  X-ray done. If you are pregnant chest x-ray is not a recommended.

·         Physical examination  starts from 1:30 pm  by panel physician.

WILL I GET  TO SEE MY MEDICAL REPORT / HOW IS THE  REPORT SENT?

·         You do not have to collect any reports. Instead, you need to send us an email with your details ie. Full name IME/UMI/ NZER/ NZHR at: travelandmountainmedicine@gmail.com to obtain your  proof of completed medical information sheet after 3-4 days.

·         Your report is  forwarded electronically via e-Medical  the department of  Immigration New Zealand health team, within three working days in most cases.

·         If your examination or test result are abnormal, our panel physician will inform you after completion of examination.

·         If you are require any further information  regarding  your medical examinations, please feel free to contact us.

UNDRESSING FOR MEDICAL EXAMINATION ?

·         As per the guidelines provided  by Department of New Zealand health team you will need to  undress to your undergarment.

·         We provide gown  to both male and female  candidates  and every effort is taken  to maintain your dignity. Only external physical examination is conducted.

·         We offer chaperone to all applicants . All  children  must be examined  in the presence of a guardian.

WHAT HAPPEN IF MY CHEST X-RAY  SHOWS ABNORMALITY ?

·         The panel physician inform you  of the result.

·         Sometime e-Medical can auto  generate the further  tests  depending on the   abnormality.

·         Once your case is submitted  IRCC , RMO will review your case and advise  if any tests are required. They will notify you via email.

WHAT ARE THE TESTS  FOR TB ?

·         TB is tested by examination of sputum ( Authorized at  IOM  Laboratory only)

·         This is done in two way smear and culture.

·         Kindly  note that the   TB sputum  culture  report  takes 8 weeks  for reporting of the results.

TB SCREENING FOR  CHILDREN?

·         Children  between  the age  of 2 and 11 years and if indicated undergo  a TB screening test.

 

WHAT ARE THE SCREENING  TEST FOR TB?

·         There are two different  types of  screening tests.

·         Mantoux - is  an intra dermal test ( Skin)

·         IGRA - Interferon  Gamma Release  Assay is a blood test .

·         Currently at Travel and Mountain Medicine Center   we only offer  Mantoux  for screening.  We are in the process of inquiring  if IGRA  if feasible. We shall update  the information in our website if IGRA test is  available.

RESULT OF MANTOUX TEST?

·         Result  of Mantoux  test is  recorded  after  48- 72 hours injection. The child will have to  reviewed by  doctors in the department of  pathology at Travel and Mountain Medicine Center for the final report.

·         Please ensure that  the child  does not  leave Kathmandu  until  the final report is provided.

·         Our panel physicians will  advice  if  additional  examination is  required  following  the result of  Mantoux test.

WHAT IF MANTOUX TEST RESULT IS POSITIVE?

·         The child need a chest x-ray

WHAT IS THE WAITING  TIME IN CLINIC?

Generally  your medical examination, Urine test and x-ray are completed  within two to three hours.

CAN  I GIVE FEED BACK TO THE CLINIC?
